A Special Cases Committee within your School will look at any work which shows evidence of mitigating circumstances. If the Committee thinks that your work was affected by the issues you raise then they might change your degree classification.
If you have failed an exam or assignment, the Special Cases Committee may permit an extra resit, or a first attempt resit.
If your circumstances are serious and will last a long time, it might be good idea to take some time out from your course. All the information on how to take temporary leave is in the Taught Student Guide.
You can also get financial advice about this from us at LUU Advice, and from the International Student Office about visa implications if you are an international student.
